Stationery
I bought a bunch of cool and expensive Japanese stationery so I thought it would be fun to make a blog post about it
Kokuyo Campus Notebooks
- $10 for a pack of 5
- Really good quality paper, smooth as butter
- I like using them, but I feel like 30 sheets is not enough for a full year of writing, so depending on how much notes I take, I might have to buy a new set, which is annoying
- Pack has 5 diff colors: Blue, Green, Purple, Pink, Yellow, and you can either get them in black covers with a color stripe or colored covers
Pilot Dr. Grip 4+1 Multi Pen
- $8 for a single multi pen :skull:
- Comes with 4 ballpoints all in 0.5 mm, and a mechanical pencil in 0.5
- It's supposed to be super ergonomic and stuff, and it's pretty good I guess, but my hand still gets pretty tired easily (maybe due to the weight or my grip)
- The ballpoint ink is really nice
Sakura Arch Foam erasers
- $5/5 erasers
- Never used a foam eraser before this
- Cool sleeve design, uses an arch (wow) to provide a grip and to make the eraser not decapitate itself
- Erases really cleanly
- Comes in black and white
Pentel Energel RTX pens
- $2/2 or something similar
- I love these so much
- They glide so nicely, especially on campus paper
- Really good dark ink
- Some ghosting on basically all papers since it's so dark, but it's not that bad
Zebra Sarasa Vintage Pens - Set 1
- $5/5 or smth similar
- Pretty good gel pens
- Interesting colors, very mellow-ish?
- I usually use them to add embellishments to my notes, and it's especially nice for that as they aren't super vibrant colors, and are readable
- Issues with railroading if you press too hard, but if you use them lightly, they are OK
Platinum Preppy Fountain Pen
- $5/1 pen :skull:
- I got the black one with a Fine nib
- Not too sure if I'm a fan of fountain pens honestly
- Ink was pretty light, might be water diluting the ink still post-wash, but it has been a few days and it's still relatively light compared to some of my other pens
- Fountain pens are apparently pretty good at relieving pain from long writing due to not needing pressure, but I didn't feel much difference (also possibly due to my grip)
- Gave it to a friend and he misaligned the tines pretty fast, so not for people who write with basically any pressure at all, so that basically ended my fountain pen career 2 days after it started
- Getting one in a thicker nib though, so maybe my fountain pen career still has a chance of surviving
Summary
not sure, japanese stationery is cool i guess, but it's super expensive lmao. feel free to send any suggestions, reccomendations, or insults to suhas@omg.lol
